For the last twenty years, the chapter has undergone multiple revisions incorporating new science and evidence-based guidance and best practices, which lead us up to the most recent revision on June 1, 2019.
While currently under appeal, once the appeals process is complete, the 2019 version will become official and enforceable by regulatory (state boards of pharmacy and FDA) and accreditation agencies, (Joint Commission and PCAB).
